It was a busy weekend at the McKinnon household.
Friday night we had Connor's (Graham's friend) family over for supper. It was a nice evening with good food and good company.
On Sat, Graham had his first soccer with Wayne Evans and was sweating his little guts out when he was done. It amazes me that winter soccer is not as popular here and it was in Halifax and this is with an excellent coach. After that, Graham, his friend and I went to watch Acadia men's soccer. Acadia just put down a new turf field and it's really nice. At the half, the kids were able to go out and kick the ball around. They were pretty cute, because being male of the species, they had to show off their best moves. There's a picture above of them on the field, they are the two red shirts. Then Sat night, Graham went glow bowling, it didn't take him long to fall asleep after all that.
On Sun, Elysia had her first soccer practice of the season. She was nervous because she wasn't seeing any of her friends there, but then a couple of girls from her summer team showed up and she really enjoyed it. The coach she has is awesome, she is the A team coach for the summer. She put Elysia up to Centre Mid and told her if she continued to play there the way she did yesterday that she could try out for the A team in the summer. I will say, it was one of Elysia's best practices I have seen in a long time. Lots of good moves and excellent passes. Her coach wants her to take some extra practices with Wayne Evans every second Sat. After that her friend Malory came over for a visit and Graham and I went to the Acadia soccer game. He hooked up with a soccer team that was there watching. He didn't know any of them but he went out at half time to play.
Mom and Liz made it back from their vacation. They took advantage of the exchange and went to the states this year. I am sure the back end of the car was dragging on the ground with all their purchases if I know those two. Today it's back to work though.
I am suppose to hear from the company I had an interview with. I went in to see them on Friday and they made me an offer for a job but the money wasn't where I wanted so I told them what I would work for and they are suppose to let me know today or tomorrow. I won't be heartbroken if they don't want to match what I want since I am enjoying this time at home. But then I don't want to be stuck scrambling at the end of my EI benefits either...hmmm...what to do?

okay, nice soccer field. I'm sure some day Graham will be playing there for real.
