Well...Elysia made it to her dance (almost didn't though). Poor Elysia has inherited her mother's migraines. They only last about 3 hours but are preceeded by an auro (basically blind spots or flashing lights)...all you can do when this happens is take some medication and bury your head. She came home from school around 9 in the morning and did exactly that. By 2, it was gone and she was fine. I decided to take her to the dance anyway, it really meant alot to her. We dropped her at her friend, Melissa's, house and her other friends met her there to "get ready", lots of curlers, hair spray, and some make up on the go. I told Elysia that there was to be no slow dancing with boys (of course, her father cringes when you say something like that). Unfortunately she could not stay to the end, it was too late for us all to drive back. She had alot of fun and got a chance to see alot of her friends but she was sad when we had to leave.
While she was dancing, Mike, Graham and I spent some money. We bought some new furniture for our living room and dining room. For those of you who know my husband you know how he hates to spend money. I thought he was going to throw up when we left Ashley furniture...but I am excited. Our present table and chairs are not my cup of tea, the chairs need some work too. So we got a new table and chairs and a server for the dining room. We also go a new couch and chaise for the living room. I cannot wait to see how they will look.
Elysia's birthday present from her grandmother arrives today (yes, her birthday is in October). She is getting a new bed and dresser, she quite excited, "grown up" furniture.
Must go and clean up, I have been putting the last few things on hold. If it ever stops raining, maybe I can play outside, so I want to be ready for that.
